Sabrina Nowling was born in Canton, Ohio. After moving around a bit in the U.S. she has been living and studying in Cincinnati, Ohio since 2000. She earned her BFA at the University of Cincinnati’s Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning program in 2017. Nowling uses ceramics, sculpture, photography, illustration, and printmaking to explore the metaphysics of time and space, using themes of science fiction, glamour and excessive decadence.

Nowling was awarded an artist residency in Jingdezhen China, working with porcelain and touring the city. She gained a new perspective of how a vast industrial population handles extreme excess in air pollution and product waste. She was also awarded the Wolfstein Fellowship travel grant to explore The Netherlands, particularly Amsterdam, to gain a better knowledge on art is fused with science and design.
